Surf Stadium was orginally called "The Sandcastle" when it opened in 1998. The ballpark's capacity is 5,500. The seating bowl is made up of a combination of dark and light blue seats, giving the park a "beachy" feel. Casinos can be seen in the distance over the outfield walls. As of 2009, the park remained unoccupied by a professional team. The condition of the ballpark was deteriorating quickly due to lack of maintenance and vandalism, but renovations were done and a Babe Ruth baseball tournament was hosted here in 2012.
