Beyer Stadium was located on the corner of Seminary Street and 15th Ave. in front of Beyer Elementary School in downtown Rockford, Illinois. It is the former home of the Rockford Peaches of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1943-1954. Games began at 8pm and ticket prices were $1.10 for a reserved seat and 75 cents for a general admission seat. The park was also known as the "Peach Orchard".
The stadium was torn down in the 90's and all that remains is the ticket booth and a historic plaque. The Rockford Peaches were made famous from the movie "A League of their Own". The actual park was not used in the movie since it was in a state of disrepair. After the release of the movie in 1992, an effort was made to restore the stadium and $85,000 was raised...but that wasn't enough to save the park. In 2004, a "Friends of Beyer Park" representative stated in a public hearing (minutes from the hearing) that it was important for the ticket booth to be declared a historic landmark.
