Seating/Stadium Design:

  • Seating areas consist of fold-down seats and bleachers with backs
  • No shade in the seating areas
  • There is a picnic area down the 3rd base line
  • The stadium has a traditional layout to it with the majority of the concession stands out of view of the field, under the seating bowl.
  • Kids Play Area
  • Team Store

Atmosphere/Character:

Municipal Stadium was a lot of character to it. It's definitely one of those charming old ballparks which are becoming fewer and fewer each year. One thing that contributes to the quaint feel of the ballpark are the various paintings, famous quotes, and logos throughout the concourse area. Every minor league logo is painted on the back of the bleachers along the first base line.

The San Jose Giants' mascot is Gigante, who seems to be popular among the fans.

Recognition of Team's History and/or MLB Affiliate:

  • Trophies honoring past championship teams
  • Championship flags painted on wall inside concourse area
